Meet The Doctor – Mohamed Shariff, DMD
Dr. Mohamed Shariff graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University in 2006. When he was not studying for his pre-dental classes, Dr. Shariff was busy volunteering at various healthcare facilities including Cooper Hospital, Virtua Hospital, and interning at private dental offices in the area. Working with physicians and dentists who were treating patients with a wide variety of medical and dental complications helped Dr. Shariff apply what he was learning to real world situations and this further inspired him to pursue a career in dentistry.
Dr. Shariff received his dental degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in 2011, and completed his general dentistry residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in 2012. During his residency, Dr. Shariff worked in collaboration with oral maxillofacial surgeons in treating dental and facial trauma. He also received extensive training in endodontitcs, prosthodontics, and cosmetic dental procedures. Dr. Shariff believes that patient comfort and understanding is the key to successful treatment and oral health.
Dr. Shariff and his wife, Dr. Sadia Sheikh along with their newborn son, Hassan Sheikh Shariff, currently reside in Toms River. During their time off, they love to explore the local area including running in Island Heights and going to the boardwalk in Seaside. We at Family Dentistry of Toms River are happy to welcome Dr. Shariff and Dr. Sheikh into our community, and are looking forward to see our family grow.

JoAnn is our friendly front desk receptionist and she ensures that all of your scheduling and financial concerns are addressed. She is also available to discuss your dental insurance coverage as well as review other payment options including care-credit.
Trudy is our lead assistant, through her charming wit and caring manner she makes you feel comfortable as you receive your dental care.
Jessica is our secondary assistant and under the tutelage of Trudy has excelled to become a valuable member of our team.
Tracy is our hygienist and through her gentle treatment has made dental cleanings an enjoyable and anxiety free experience.

Dr. Shariff brings experience, precision, and compassion to every aspect of patient care. A graduate of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality dentistry in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Known for his gentle approach and attention to detail, Dr. Shariff takes the time to listen to his patients, ensuring each treatment plan is tailored to their unique needs. He has also completed advanced courses in the placement of dental implants, further enhancing his ability to provide cutting-edge restorative solutions. His commitment to excellence and patient satisfaction is at the heart of our practice, guiding our team in delivering exceptional dental care every day.
Meet Dr. Sheikh – Dentist
Dr. Sheikh brings expertise, precision, and a gentle touch to every patient interaction. Highly knowledgeable and thorough, she provides personalized treatment plans that ensure the highest quality care. A graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in dentistry, she has also completed the coursework required to earn her master’s credentials. Especially skilled with children, Dr. Sheikh creates a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients of all ages. As Dr. Shariff’s wife and a trusted partner in the practice, she shares his commitment to excellence, making them a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional dental care to every patient.
Meet Joann – Lead Patient Care & Insurance Coordinator
With over 30 years of experience in the dental field, including a decade alongside Dr. Shariff, Joann brings both expertise and genuine warmth to our office. As the head of our front desk team, she oversees insurance claims, treatment plans, and patient consultations, ensuring every detail is handled with care and precision. Her friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge make her an invaluable resource for patients, helping them feel confident and informed about their treatment, coverage, and overall care experience.
Meet Christina – Dental Receptionist & our Insurance Specialist
Christina brings energy and enthusiasm to our front desk team, greeting every patient with her vivacious and friendly personality. Meet Keirsten- Dental Assistant & Head of our Orthodontics Team
With years of orthodontic experience, Keirsten is our lead orthodontic technician, specializing in scanning and submitting SureSmile clear aligner cases and assisting with crown design and scans. Her expertise and warm demeanor ensure every patient feels informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.

As the lead of our in-office lab, Jenn plays a key role in the planning and creation of crowns, bridges, nightguards, and implant restorations.
